Guantanamo Bay Closing
I believe that Guantanamo Bay should have remained open. There are cons to the idea of Guantanamo remaining open and it is important that we take that into consideration, but I believe that a better option to closing it would be simply changing some rules and regulations of Guantanamo. Closing Guantanamo is almost assuredly freeing a good number of terrorists that will most likely follow the trend already set by former terrorists, which is to step back in to terrorist organizations such as Al Qaeda. In Jennifer’s essay I can see where she would view the case of Pedilla as unfair, but can America really risk the security of the entire nation for fairness? Being fair is important but not as important as national security.

Persuasive Paragraph

Food is becoming an unaffordable expense to families all around La Crosse. These families go to the food pantries in the area for their meals when times are literally too rough to buy food. There are around 2,900 families each year that are served by the Wafer in La Crosse, and if you have any extra to give at all please donate to the food shelters here. Even Though we are struggling college students, I assure you we can afford to feed a few more mouths a couple days out of every month. This can be as simple as buying a twelve pack of Ramen noodles and fiving it to the food drive. That is twelve meals for less than two dollars. Please consider helping the families of La Crosse that aren’t as fortunate as us.

Illustration Paragraph
Many people become obsessed with appearance. For example, anorexia and bulimia has become a major problem. I personally know a very large number of people who have had an eating disorder at one time. I continue to find out that long time friends of mine have had eating disorders as well. Another example is the people we know as stars. Famous people almost always look good, and it seems obvious that people like the more attractive famous people more than the less fortunate. Some stars even have insurance on specific features such as legs. My personal feelings are that people value looks over many things such as personality, or talent in a star’s situation, and that shouldn’t be.

Descriptive Paragraph

Music is without doubt one of the greatest joys in my life and while I am at a concert I feel a constant deep sensation that I can’t compare to anything else. I attended a concert in Milwaukee almost a year ago, but not just any concert; it was my favorite band Chiodos. I remember standing in the exhaustingly long line while every beat of my heart became more like the tick of a bomb waiting to explode from excitement. As I neared the main stage my anticipation grew to an extremely visible level. As the opening bands played I had a good time but couldn’t help but look forward to Chiodos. When they finally came on stage, the moment came alive. The silhouettes of my favorite band were all I could see, cast by light too dim to see their faces. Suddenly the rumble of the speakers along with the rambunctious jumping of the crowd shook the building like an earthquake. The instrumentals started as blinding lights flashed over the stage and the audience, increasing the excitement. Finally, as I saw the band’s and the crowd’s passion for the music, I couldn’t help but join the crowd’s boisterous activity. In the first few seconds of my favorite band playing, I had already felt as if my amusement had reached its peak, but as I heard the voice of Craig Owen’s, a voice clearer than any bell, I realized I was having one of the best times of my life. That concert was worth any amount of money I could have paid, and there isn’t much I would trade for it.

Narrative Paragraph
February 19, 2007 at Mt. Lacrosse around seven o’ clock I was riding my snowboard down a slope, way too fast for my skill level. I took a side trail and I was heading for a jump when I saw three kids sitting in front of it. I had to steer around the kids and I hit the jump facing forward. I got in the air and straightened myself out, but then I caught the front of my board in the snow and slid face-first for about ten feet in the snow. I didn’t and still don’t remember anything for the next two hours. It was later resolved that I had burst a cyst in my brain and I had to have brain surgery. Today I still have headaches but it is a better outcome as one that would have occurred if I hadn’t gone to the doctor.

Not All My Trash, But All My Responsibility
My house’s garbage accumulates entirely too fast, and even though I am usually gone and contribute least to this trash, I am the one to deal with it. In my house there are at least two full bags of garbage taken out every day. At the point when one bag is full I am forced to bring my family’s trash to the backside of our garage. This trash then sits there until Saturday when I have to take my family’s trash to the city dump. Finally, I am able to rid myself of the garbage stinking up my car with the dedicated old man that is at the dump every Saturday without fail. He helps me take my garbage and put it in the compacter while I am able to drive off free of garbage, but unfortunately my car is not free of the smell.

Blog for Written Communications

writing is not my forte so this is a blog for the sole purpose of my written communications class. Try not to expect to much because my writing skills are probably at the equivalent of a third grader.
